3 Ways to Get Your Jobs Done

There is nothing more annoying than reaching bedtime and finding none of my jobs have been done. There’s often several reasons for this, or should I say excuses. I end up finishing the day feeling disappointed in myself. Read this article to discover my top 3 tips for getting jobs done.

I know everyone bangs on about social media and how you shouldn’t be doing this or that. If you’re catching up with friends, arranging days out, seeing what your favourite band is up to or entering the latest ITV competition then it can be great. However, those tasks only take around five to twenty minutes depending on how good your friends are at getting back to you. I think we can all agree that social media doesn’t need hours of our undivided attention. If you’re waiting for a response to something then just put your phone away and come back to it later. Sounds easier said than done I’m sure. Well, that’s where screen times can be really handy. I set a lock on all my mobile social media apps so that after 1 hour of usage they shut down and can’t be used. I’ve also seen people use physical locks such as item safes that you can set a timer for, and you can also get software that locks down your whole PC to just basic applications that you know you’re going to use.

Try swapping out an hour of social media a day for learning a skill, reading the book you’ve meaning to read or going to the gym. My goal is to achieve about 15 minutes of social media a day if that, but I’m not quite there yet. I find once I’m stuck into something I forget all about social media and feel so much happier.
